Establish or edit the overall settings for the identity and appearance of your website.
- Click on the “Manage Site” tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen
- Click on the “Site Setup” tab.
- In the “Site Builder” window that opens, click on the “Site Settings” button at the top right of the window.
- In the “Edit Site Settings” window that opens, edit or type a name into the “Site Name” box. By default, this name matches the name of your organization.
- To override the default site URL, type a value into the “Subdomain” box. By default, the site URL will match the organization name, with all punctuation removed and dashes replacing any spaces between words. Accept the default value in the “Subdomain” box unless you absolutely need the site URL to be different from the organization name. The URL sample below the “Subdomain” box shows either the default or the value you type in the box.
- In a Staging Site, click on the “Site Theme” dropdown menu and choose a theme. Note that this menu only appears if you open the “Edit Site Settings” window from a Staging Site, not from a Production Site.
- Click on the “Color Palette” dropdown menu and choose a color scheme for your website. Each of these color palettes uses an expertly coordinated range of shades for items such as menu bars, solid widget backgrounds, accented text colors, buttons, and footer backgrounds.
- Activate the “Enable Custom Domain” control to override the site URL in the “Subdomain” box. Use this control to set the web address for your site to a custom location.
- Type or paste a value into the “Google Analytics” box to enable your organization to track information about visitors to your site, which pages they load, and how they interact with your content. You will need the appropriate Google Analytics account to take advantage of this website feature.
- Activate the “Disable public site from being viewed” control to make your site inaccessible on the internet.
- Click on the “Save” button to finish customizing your site settings.
- To exit the process without changing site settings, click on the “Cancel” button, press the “Esc” key, or click on the “X” in the top right corner of the window.
Note that you cannot change your overall website theme in the “Site Settings” dialog box. (For instructions on how to change to a different site theme, see the “Change Your Website Theme” section of these instructions.)
