Like all organization Members, you can create new messages through your website’s Messaging features.
- Log in to the Member-facing view of your website directly from the site itself, or click on the “Public Site” tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen to switch to the public website from the behind-the-scenes Dashboard view.
- In the menu bar under the name of your organization, click on the Messaging” icon (pair of speech balloons).
- In the “Messaging” overlay window that opens on the right side of your screen, click on the “+ New Message” button.
- To add groups to the Messaging conversation based on organizational roles, click on the “Add Groups to Message” dropdown menu.
- In the “Add Groups to Message” dropdown menu, click on a checkbox to select or deselect the name of a role. These roles include the names of your organization’s committees. Select as many roles as you want to be able to join this Messaging conversation, or deselect any roles that you no longer want to be able to access it.
- To search for Members by name and add them to the Messaging conversation, click in the “Search and Add Members” box and type all or part of the name of a Member. As soon as you type into the search box, the “Add” list appears below the box to display only those names that match your search criteria.
- To choose a Member by name to add to the Messaging conversation, click on the “+” button to the right of the Member’s name in your search results.
- Re-enter the same or different search text in the “Search and Add Members” box, and repeat this process for as many Members as you want to add from search results.
- Type or paste your message text into the “Your Message” box.
- To add an image or document to your message, click on the “Browse” button in the “Upload photos or documents” area of the “Messaging” window, and locate the file you want to upload. Click on the name of the file to select it and click on the “Open” button to continue.
- To complete the process of posting your message, click on the “Send” button at the bottom of the “Messaging” window.
- To exit the process without creating a Newsfeed item, click on the “Cancel” button. To exit the “Messaging” window altogether without removing the selections you’ve made in the window, click on the “X” in the top right corner of the window.
