Create a Calendar Page and Attach a Calendar

After you create a calendar to display specific types of events, create a Calendar page on your website and add the calendar to it so members can see and respond to it.

To learn how to create a new calendar, see the “Create a New Calendar” section of the “Calendars” instructions. Be sure to activate the “Include Events” checkbox in Step 6 to add member events that you create through the Events feature of your website (if you’re using that feature).

To learn how to add a page to your website, see the “Add a Page” section of the “Site Setup – Pages, Templates & Menus” instructions. As you follow these instructions, select “Calendar” or “Calendar/Events” from the “Page Template” dropdown menu in Step 4.

To learn how to set up a calendar on your Calendar page within the “Site Setup” window, please follow the steps below.

Calendar Widget Element

A Calendar widget can display any calendar you set up for your organization. Note that only a Calendar page includes a Calendar widget. (For instructions on how to set up a Calendar page, see the “Creating a Calendar Page and Attaching a Calendar” item in the “Site Setup – Pages, Templates & Menus” section of these instructions.)

  1. Click on the “Site Setup” tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen.
  2. In the “Site Builder” window that opens, click on the name of the page that contains the widget you want to edit. (By default, the Site Builder displays the Home page.)
  3. Place your cursor over the active widget whose settings you want to edit.
    • An overlay appears over the widget, dimming the appearance of its content, and a control sheet opens up from the top edge.
  4. Click on the “Edit Calendar” item in the control sheet.
  5. In the “Edit Calendar” window that opens, click on the “Select a Calendar to Display” dropdown menu and select the calendar you want to appear in the widget area.
  6. Click on the “Update” button to apply your changes. To abandon your changes, click on the “Cancel” button, press the “Esc” key, or click on the “X” in the top right corner of the window.
