Add a Subfolder

Create subfolders to divide up the contents of a website folder into subcategories.

  1. Click on the “Features” tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen.
  2. Click on the “Documents” tab.
  3. In the “DOCUMENTS” window that opens, click on the name of a folder in the list to select it.
  4. Click on the “New Subfolder” button at the top right.
  5. In the “CREATE NEW FOLDER” window that opens, type the name into the “Folder Name” box.
  6. Activate the “Viewable By All Members” checkbox to make the folder and its contents visible to all members. Deactivate the checkbox if you want to limit who can view the folder. When you deactivate the “Viewable By All Members” checkbox, the “Viewable by…” dropdown menu appears.
    • In the “Viewable by…” dropdown menu, click on a checkbox to select or deselect the name of a role. These roles include the names of your organization’s committees. Select as many roles as you want to be able to access this website folder, or deselect any roles that you no longer want to be able to access it. To make the subfolder visible only to Administrators, select “Admin Only” from the “Viewable by…” dropdown menu.
  7. To complete the process of creating your folder, click on the “Create” button at the bottom of the “CREATE NEW FOLDER” window. To exit the process without creating a folder, click on the “Cancel” button, press the “Esc” key, or click on the “X” in the top right corner of the window.
    • After you create a subfolder, the folder display area on the right side of the “DOCUMENTS” window displays a list of the contents of the main folder, including the name of the subfolder, the date on which you last modified it or added contents to it, and an “ACTIONS” icon.
      1. Click on a column heading to sort the file list by that column in descending order. Click on that heading a second time to sort the file list by that column in ascending order.
      2. Click on the name of the subfolder to access its contents.
    • After you create a subfolder, the name of the folder in the list on the left side of the “DOCUMENTS” window displays a “>” after it to indicate that it is not empty because it now contains the subfolder.
      • Click on the “>” after the name of a folder to view a list of the subfolders within it.
    • To delete a subfolder and any files it contains, click on the name of the subfolder and then click on the “Settings” button to open the “EDIT FOLDER” window. In the “EDIT FOLDER” window, click on the “Delete Folder And Contents” button. In the “DELETE FOLDER AND CONTENTS?” window that opens, click on the “Delete” button to confirm your deletion. To exit the “DELETE FOLDER AND CONTENTS?” window without deleting the folder, click on the “Cancel” button, press the “Esc” key, or click on the “X” in the top right corner of the window.
