Most organizations maintain a list of frequently asked questions and authoritative answers, published so members can find the correct procedures and outcomes for common circumstances. To create a Q-and-A resource, create a FAQ page on your website.
To learn how to add a page to your website, see the “Add a Page” section of the “Site Setup – Pages, Templates & Menus” instructions. As you follow these instructions, select “FAQ” or “FAQ—Multi Section” from the “Page Template” dropdown menu in Step 4.
FAQ Template
This page template creates an accordion-style page with a series of tabs that open when you click on them. Each tab contains one frequently asked question and its answer.
Add a FAQ Category
Once you’ve created your FAQ page, set up a FAQ category so you can add and organize questions and answers.
- Click on the “Site Setup” tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen.
- In the “Site Builder” window that appears, locate the page you want to edit in the vertical menu at the left side of the screen. Click on the name to open the page for editing.
- Click on the “+Add Another Category” link to create a category of questions and answers.
- In the “Add Category” window that appears, select the default text and type or paste in your category name.
- Click on the “Add” button to apply your changes. To abandon your changes, click on the “Cancel” button, press the “Esc” key, or click on the “X” in the top right corner of the window.
Add a FAQ Question and Answer
After you add a FAQ category, incorporate questions and answers into it.
- Click on the “Site Setup” tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen.
- In the “Site Builder” window that appears, locate the page you want to edit in the vertical menu at the left side of the screen. Click on the name to open the page for editing.
- Click on the name of one of the FAQ categories. (Note that if you click on the Edit icon (blue pencil) on one of the FAQ categories, you open the “Edit Category” window instead of editing the category content.)
- Click on the “Add New Q & A” link to create a question and its answer.
- In the “Add Question and Answer” window that opens, click on the “Category” dropdown menu and choose a FAQ category. To create a new FAQ category, choose “Add New Category” and complete the “Add a FAQ Category” instructions above.
- In the “Question” box, select the default text and type or paste in your question.
- In the “Answer” box, select the default text and type or paste in the answer to the question.
- Click on the “Add” button to apply your changes. To abandon your changes, click on the “Cancel” button, press the “Esc” key, or click on the “X” in the top right corner of the window.
FAQ—Multi Section Template
This page template combines title-and-paragraph widget elements with FAQ categories. Follow the instructions above to create FAQ categories, questions and answers.
