Creating a Photo Gallery Page and Setting Up the Gallery

To display photos from a member event or any other collection of images from or about your organization, create a Photo Gallery page on your website and add the images to a Gallery widget to showcase your organization’s shared experiences. Note that only a Photo Galley page includes a Gallery widget.

To learn how to add a page to your website, see the “Add a Page” section of the “Pages and Menus” instructions. As you follow these instructions, select “Photo Gallery” from the “Page Template” dropdown menu in Step 4.

To learn how to set up your gallery on a Photo Gallery page, please read the instructions below.

  1. Click on the “Manage Site” tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen
  2. Click on the “Site Setup” tab.
  3. In the “Site Builder” window that appears, click on the name of the page that contains the widget you want to edit. (By default, the Site Builder displays the Home page.)
  4. Place your cursor over the active widget whose settings you want to edit.
    • An overlay appears over the widget, dimming the appearance of its content, and a control sheet opens up from the top edge.
  5. Click on the “Edit Gallery” item in the control sheet.
  6. In the “Edit Gallery” window that appears, click on the “Add Image” button to add your first visual.
  7. In the “Add Image” window that opens, select the default text in the “Image Title” box and type or paste an optional title for your image.
  8. Click on the “Browse” button and locate the image file on your computer. You can upload a GIF, JPG, or PNG file up to 15 MB in size.
  9. Click and drag inside the blue selection-area box to position it over the portion of the image that you want to display as the logo. Click and drag any of the blue dots on the corners and edges of the blue box to enlarge or reduce the selected area. On a laptop trackpad or scroll-wheel mouse, zoom in or out to change the display size of the image. You also can click and drag outside the default blue box to draw a new selection area.
  10. When you are happy with your selection, click on the “Save Image” button. To abandon your changes and return to the “Edit Gallery” window, click on the “Cancel” button, press the “Esc” key, or click on the “X” in the top right corner of the window.
  11. To add more images to your gallery, repeat steps 5 through 9 above.
    • The order in which multiple images appear from top to bottom in the “Edit Gallery” window determines the order in which they appear from left to right in the Photo Gallery widget.
    • To rearrange the order in which your images appear, drag the four-headed blue arrow to the left of the name of an image. Drag it higher in the list to move the image further to the left in the gallery.
    • Drag the arrow lower in the list to move the image further to the right in the gallery.
    • Note that depending on the dimensions of your images, they may display in multiple rows, but their overall top-to-bottom order in the “Edit Gallery” window determines their overall order on the Photo Gallery page.
    • To delete an image, click on the “Delete” icon (red trash can) to the right of the image title.
    • To edit the title of an image or change the image itself, click on the Edit icon (blue pencil) to the right of the image title.
  12. Click on the “Update” button to apply your changes. To abandon your changes, click on the “Cancel” button, press the “Esc” key, or click on the “X” in the top right corner of the window.
