Your website theme determines many aspects of the appearance of your site, including colors, typefaces, text-area backgrounds, and widget layout. To change your website theme, create a Staging Site first.
- The pages you create in your Production Site do not exist in a Staging Site, and vice versa. The sole exception is the home page.
- The pages you create and changes you make in a Staging Site do not carry over to your Production Site unless you save your changes in the Staging Site and then publish it. Once you save your changes in the Staging Site and publish it, the Staging Site becomes the Production Site, and completely replaces any content you had built in the Production Site.
- Click on the “Manage Site” tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen
- Click on the “Site Setup” tab.
- In the “Site Builder” window that opens, click on the “Build a Staging Site” button at the top of the Site Builder window. After you create a Staging Site, the “Currently Editing” dropdown menu replaces the “Build a Staging Site” button so you can switch between the Production Site and the Staging Site.
- In the “Edit Site Settings” window that opens, click on the “Site Theme” dropdown menu and choose a theme.
- Click on the “Color Palette” dropdown menu and choose a color scheme for your website. Each of these color palettes uses an expertly coordinated range of shades for items such as menu bars, solid widget backgrounds, accented text colors, buttons, and footer backgrounds.
- For information about the rest of the settings in the “Edit Site Settings” window, see the Site Settings (Production Site or Staging Site) section of these instructions.
