Edit a Message in a Conversation

Edit the text of a message or remove a message altogether from a conversation.

  1. Log in to the Member-facing view of your website directly from the site itself, or click on the “Public Site” tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen to switch to the public website from the behind-the-scenes Dashboard view.
  2. In the menu bar under the name of your organization, click on the Messaging icon (pair of speech balloons).
  3. The “Messaging” overlay window that opens on the right side of your screen lists all the conversations in which you’re a participant.
  4. Click on the box that contains information about an individual conversation to view details about it and the messages in it.
  5. Click on the three-dots control at the top right corner of the box that contains an individual message within the conversation to open the Actions menu.
  6. Click on the “edit message” item in the Actions menu.
  7. Edit or add to the text in the “Your message” box at the bottom of the “Messaging” window.
    • To add an image to your message while you are editing it, click on the Image button (camera icon) next to the “Your message” box in the “Messaging” window, and locate the file you want to upload. Click on the name of the file to select it and click on the “Open” button to continue.
    • To add a document to your message while you are editing it, click on the “Upload” button next to the Image button in the “Messaging” window, and locate the file you want to upload. Click on the name of the file to select it and click on the “Open” button to continue.
  8. To send your edited message and include any images or files you have added, click on the “Send” button at the far right of the “Your message” box in the “Messaging” window.
  9. To return to the full list of your conversations, click on the “view all messages” link.
