Activate or Deactivate Private Messaging

If you prefer not to use the Messaging feature, deactivate it for your entire community—and if your needs change, reactivate it. Note that individual members can decide to opt out of Messaging through their Member Profile.

  1. Click on the “Account” tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen.
  2. Click on the “Settings” tab.
  3. Locate the “Enable Chat” toggle switch and activate it to enable Messaging. Deactivate the toggle switch to turn off Messaging.
    • Customers who signed up before 09-23-2024 will need to contact their Onboarding Specialist or file a Support Desk ticket to use the “Enable Chat” toggle switch because Messaging settings were handled through internal controls before that date.
